Reignite a Fire for Marketing

At the end of the year I’m usually tired and worn down from a challenging but exciting year. It gets harder for me to get excited about posting on social and marketing my business in this worn down state. Then the new year comes and I think, How am I going to get the fire back?

Getting excited about marketing your business can be a game changer! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected from marketing at times, but when you find ways to enjoy the process and things to help you get your head back in it, it can become an inspiring and motivating part of your entrepreneurial journey. Here are some ways to spark that excitement:

1. Reconnect with Your ‘Why’

Remind yourself why you started your business in the first place. What’s the passion that drives you? We all start our business out of passion, a mission or something close to our hearts. Sometimes over time, the little things make you forget why you started in the first place. So remembering how the fire for your business started in the first place will help you get it back!

2. Celebrate Small Wins

Every marketing step you take is a small victory! Big or small, a win is a win! Whether you launch a campaign, get positive feedback, or see your website traffic grow, celebrating each milestone can make the process feel more rewarding. Track progress and give yourself credit for the hard work you’re putting in.

3. Update Your Marketing Materials **Book a Brand Session**

It’s hard to get excited when all you have to use are old materials, possibly outdated or just feeling stale.  There is nothing that makes it more exciting and easier for me to sit down and post about my business than new beautiful images/videos!  They are inspiring!  A brand photo session is a powerful tool for your marketing, and it plays a critical role in how your business is perceived by your audience. High-quality, thoughtfully planned photos can elevate your brand, communicate your message, and help you connect with customers on a deeper level.

4. Engage with Your Audience

Marketing isn’t just about broadcasting; it’s about building relationships. When you start seeing responses from your audience—whether it’s comments on social media, email replies, or positive reviews—it creates a feedback loop that can energize you. It’s proof that your efforts are connecting with people, and that can be a huge motivator.

5. Engage in Collaboration

Marketing doesn’t have to be a solo endeavor. Collaborate with influencers, partners, or customers. Joint ventures can bring fresh ideas, energize your strategies, and expand your reach. Plus, the sense of community and shared purpose can be a huge motivator.

6. Set Clear, Achievable Goals

When you know what you’re working toward, marketing becomes a journey with a purpose. Create clear goals (e.g., grow your email list by 10% in 3 months, get X number of website visitors, or increase social media engagement). Having a specific target makes each action feel more meaningful. Goals can help you show up for your business because you have a purpose to work towards!

7. Focus on the Impact

Marketing is more than just spreading the word—it’s about creating value. When you focus on how your product or service helps people, it can reignite your passion. Remember, marketing is a way to make your business more visible so that the people who need it can find it!

Marketing is about telling your story and reaching people who will benefit from what you offer. When you think of marketing as a way to connect people to something that can help or inspire them, it can shift your perspective from “salesy” to “service-oriented,” which is often more motivating.

If you see marketing as a creative, dynamic, and exciting part of building your business, it can turn from a task you have to do into something you want to do. The energy and excitement you put into marketing will often come back to you in the form of a thriving business and a growing customer base!
