Reputation by definition is: “the beliefs or opinions that are generally held about someone or
something”.

What does this mean as a business?

Brand reputation is how the public perceives your company. It is how your client or future client feels
about you. It includes if they see you as trustworthy, reliable, are the invested mentally/emotionally in
you? These opinions and perceptions are largely impacted by your client’s experience with you, that
could be actual in person experience or based on their interaction with you on your social media or
website.
If you have a strong brand reputation, it will be easier to acquire clients, keep clients, get referrals, get
an advantage over competitors etc. Therefore, building a solid brand reputation or brand identity is an
investment in your company.

How do I build my brand reputation?

  1. Brand Identity: building a strong brand identity helps you stand out, build connection and be
    undeniably recognizable.
  2. Online Presence: Many people in this era use social media to find and research companies.
Having a positive online presence makes your company more visible and gives you a platform to
share your business and others to share experiences with your business. These all help clients
get to know your brand and who you are.
  3. Reviews: reviews can make a big difference in your brand reputation. These allow potential
clients to learn of others experiences with you. This builds trust with future clients to have
essentially a recommendation from another client.
  4. Understand your brand: Make sure you understand your own brand, what you stand for, your
company’s mission and how you want your clients to feel interacting with you. This will all guide
how you present yourself. After all, if you don’t know your brand how can you expect anyone
    lese to?
  5. Listen to feedback: When given feedback, take it in and show that you listen and react to
feedback. This also helps build trust that your experiences with clients are not a one way street.
  6. Be consistent: Being consistent builds trust. This includes the experience your clients have with
you, your customer service, your online presence etc. Always be You and be consistent.
  7. Quality: Always be sure to but quality of product/service and customer service at the top of
your list of importance. This goes along with being consistent.

This allows you to know your brand better as well as curating a solid cohesive brand identity to put forward to your clients.
